I am Cindy, 12 years old. I am from Cebu. I am the fifth among my siblings. My parents are Urbana and Generoso. My mother sometimes works for my uncle and sometimes helps in planting vegetables. My father was a driver but on the onset of the pandemic, he stops driving and instead helps in planting vegetables. We also help our parents whenever we don’t have classes. I help planting vegetables at the farm.
My siblings are studying, and they also have the difficulty because they only use cellphone. For my part, I am answering modules given but very difficult to understand because it is not explained. My youngers brother is still in grade 1 I help him in answering his module. My school is far from my home, and I am passing in the two rivers and if flooded we cannot reach the school. However, because I am eager to learn I try my best to study.
I desire to study in the Sisters of Mary School and waiting to know if they will accept applicants this year. My neighbor who graduated from the Boystown, informs us that there will be a online interview for those interested applicants.
When I took the exam, it was through online. We were given the code and we waited. While we were waiting, we lost signal and we need to connect to the Wi-Fi. We also consumed our money in connecting to the Wi-Fi. We also find place where connection is reach. We started in the morning, and we finish in the evening because we cannot connect with the Sisters.
But fortunately, I learned about the result, I was very happy because I passed the exam together with my cousins. Since we cannot communicate, we immediately rush to go to the Sisters of Mary School as early as possible. Even it is not yet admission time we are accepted earlier because we already travel going there.
After processing my documents, I am excited to go up that I forget my mother, I did not say goodbye to her. When I came here, I thought that our mother-sister and helping-sisters were strict, but I was wrong. I was also scared because I will sleep alone, but when my dormmates arrived, it all vanished, and I had someone to talk to.
My dream in life is to finish my studies and achieve my aspiration to become a doctor to help my family and those people who needs my help. I need to strengthen my will and myself for them because I want them to be safe. I hope to finish studying here in the Sisters of Mary so I can help and uplift my family from poverty. It is hard to be away from my family, but I need to sacrifice because it is also for them. To all who are supporting my studies I am very grateful and I will try my very best.
