A Story of Faith, Effort, and Hope

This is my story a story that hasn’t been easy, but one that is full of faith, effort, hope, and countless blessings.

My life began under very humble circumstances. My family and I lived in a wooden house, simple and modest, where many times we didn’t have enough. Our financial resources were very limited, and the opportunities to study were nearly nonexistent. Despite everything, I grew up surrounded by the love of my family, with four siblings who were my companions through life, in play and in hardship. We were five, but one day, God decided to take one of them back. His absence left a deep emptiness in my heart, but I know he is now resting in peace, and I remember him with love every day.

A Blessing from Heaven

Angelie at Girlstown

The course of my life changed thanks to a blessing from heaven: the Sisters of Mary. They came into my life like true angels. They recruited me to be part of their school, and from that moment on, my life began to take on a new meaning. Thanks to their love, guidance, and discipline, I began to discover that I was capable of dreaming big, that I deserved a better future, and that even though I came from a humble beginning, my destiny could be filled with light.

Studying at the Girlstown school was a life-changing experience. It wasn’t easy at first, but over time I not only gained academic knowledge, but I also learned values, faith, and the importance of service. I thank God every day for placing the Sisters in my path. They became, and still are, my second home, my spiritual support, and my guiding light during the most important moments of my life.

A Dream Fulfilled

Today, I can proudly say that I graduated from university and am working as a professional. I am an English teacher. It is a dream come true, and every day that I walk into a classroom, I remember that I am there because of every sacrifice, every prayer, and every person who believed in me.

My job as a teacher is one of the greatest blessings God has given me. It allows me to grow professionally, and gives me the chance to give back a little of what I have received. It is my way of supporting the spiritual mothers who helped raise me, and of planting hope in the hearts of other young people like me.

Angelie’s College Graduation

I still have dreams to fulfill. If God allows it, I want to continue studying, and keep growing both personally and professionally. But more than academic or career advancements, my greatest wish is to continue being an instrument of God’s love, and an example that with faith, effort, and a helping hand, it is possible to overcome.

My story is not perfect, but it is real. It is written with tears, sacrifices, prayers and with smiles, gratitude, and miracles. To everyone who has been part of my journey, thank you and to God, endless thanks for never letting go of my hand.
