For Chona Day, joining Sisters of Mary World Villages for Children is a deeply personal homecoming to the mission that helped shape her life.
A proud graduate of the Sisters of Mary School in Cebu, Philippines, Chona knows firsthand the life-changing impact of the Sisters’ mission. As a young student, she was given the opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, and personally in an environment built on faith, discipline, education, and service. The values and formation she received at the Sisters of Mary have continued to guide her throughout her life and remain at the heart of her commitment to serving others.
Chona holds a bachelor’s degree in Justice Administration and a master’s degree in Legal Studies. Throughout her professional career and community involvement, Chona has developed a passion for building genuine relationships, creating meaningful partnerships, and bringing people together around a shared purpose.
She also serves as President of the San Antonio Filipino American Chamber of Commerce (SAFACC), where she champions economic, cultural, and educational exchange initiatives and leads collaborations with businesses, universities, government agencies, and community organizations.
Now, as a Donor Advisor, Chona has the unique privilege of returning to serve the very mission that once invested in her. She looks forward to sharing her personal journey with supporters and helping donors see the extraordinary and lasting impact their generosity can create.
Chona believes that when a donor chooses to invest in one child, the impact does not end with that child. It continues through the families they build, the communities they serve, and the lives they touch along the way. Her own journey is a testament to that ripple effect, and she is honored to help connect generous hearts with the next generation of children whose stories are still being written.
Chona is a proud mother of four sons, Klint, Kenneth, Kurt, and Kevin, with whom she shares an exceptionally close bond. Her four sons are a tremendous source of pride and joy in her life, and family remains at the heart of who she is.
