Sisters of Mary Honduras: Hope for Children in Need

Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and, unfortunately, has one of the world’s highest murder rates. Moreover, more than half the population lives in poverty, with one of the lowest per capita incomes in the region. Poverty is most severe in rural and indigenous communities, where access to education and basic services is extremely limited. Although educational development is essential, most schools lack resources, trained teachers, and safe learning environments.

Thanks to generous donors like you, the Sisters of Mary Honduras operate two life-changing schools: Tegucigalpa Girlstown and Amarateca Boystown. These schools serve over 1,500 children from the country’s most remote and impoverished areas, offering education, care, and hope. At both locations, students receive full-time shelter, meals, healthcare, and technical education to help break the cycle of poverty.
