Sisters of Mary Girlstown and Boystown Mexico: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty
In Mexico, 53.9% of children under age 17 lack access to education, healthcare, housing, and adequate food. Poverty impacts every part of a child’s development and often continues across generations without meaningful intervention.
The Sisters of Mary Girlstown and Boystown Mexico provide a lifeline to children from families in extreme poverty. They operate a Boystown in Guadalajara and a Girlstown in Chalco, offering full-time care, education, and support. With donor support, children aged 12 to 18 receive live-in middle school, high school, and technical training opportunities.
The Sisters also care for toddlers through daycare services, supporting young children during their most vulnerable years. By nurturing children’s physical, educational, social, and spiritual well-being, the Sisters of Mary help break the cycle of generational poverty.
