Transforming Lives at Amarateca Boystown Honduras
Amarateca Boystown Honduras was established by the Sisters of Mary in 2017 to provide education and care for impoverished boys. In 2020, a new school building increased capacity, allowing up to 950 boys to live and learn in a safe environment. Students receive full-time care, including healthcare and three nutritious meals daily, fostering their physical and mental well-being .
The curriculum emphasizes sciences and computing, alongside vocational training in computer maintenance, electronics, welding, and automotive mechanics. These skills align with local job markets, preparing graduates for employment opportunities upon leaving school. The school also collaborates with local and international companies, offering on-the-job training and employment opportunities. Beyond academics, boys engage in sports and hobbies, promoting holistic development and a sense of community.
All of this is made possible through the generosity of donors committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in the world.
Building Bright Futures at Amarateca Boystown Honduras
At Amarateca Boystown Honduras, the boys follow a full-time academic program with a strong focus on science and computer studies. In addition, they receive hands-on vocational training in fields such as computer maintenance, electronics, welding, and automotive mechanics. These technical skills are aligned with local job market needs, helping students secure employment after graduation. As a result, the boys leave school prepared with both knowledge and practical skills to build a stable, independent future.
