Meet Ramjee

Philippines

Minglanilla

Our place is far from the sea and the mountains. It has a lot of sugarcane plantations. We are just near the city but it is also not safe. Last 2019, a lot of crimes happened in our place. The kidnapping of children up to 15 years old is also rampant. That is the reason why early afternoon, we are already inside our house. We have easy access to different goods just that we have nothing to buy since life is very difficult and we are just poor. The easiest job to find in our place is to become a laborer in the sugarcane plantation but then it is just seasonal; once there is no harvest, it’s hard to find a job. My father is a laborer in the sugarcane plantation but it is difficult for him to work now since he is sickly. Sometimes, when he can’t do laboring, he goes to the farm. My mother is a housekeeper but sometimes, she is vending vegetables from the farm. I have seven (7) siblings, two sisters and five brothers. My father finds it hard to work because of his sickness that is why my older brothers stopped schooling to help him earn a living. My mother also can’t go to work because she just gave birth to our youngest last January this year.

I am looking forward to achieving my ambition in life, be able to change my attitude which is to be a better person, be a simple and responsible man and be able to focus on my studies with the help of Sisters of Mary. My life in the Sisters of Mary school is very different than the previous, I am a bully person but now, I realized that it is not good. I am also taught on how to be kind and respectful to others. I decided to come to the Sisters of Mary School of my willingness to help my family and eagerness to reach my ambition which is to become a professional teacher. I was also motivated by the thought that the people of Sisters of Mary treat each other as brothers and sisters, respectful and good. I was also informed that they have advanced technology here which is very useful in enhancing our skills.

My dream is to become a simple man, help my family and become a teacher. I will go to college and pursue my ambition of becoming a professional teacher so that I can help my family. Once I become successful, I will buy my own house and have a good family. I also want to become a sponsor in this school. In order for me to do that, I will work first and save enough money for my studies. I will also apply for scholarships. I believe I can help my family and community in any way I can. I will help my family financially. I will also help my community by sharing and teaching what I have learned from the Sisters of Mary.
